About

JAROIS – Stanisław Jarosz was born on May 8th, 1894 in Jasło, Austria-Hungary. He moved to the United States at a young age, and was living in Detroit during 1917 when he registered to serve in World War I. Stanisław married Marie Olszewski. In 1927, he was naturalized as Stanley Jarois, permenantly establishing the Jarois family in America.

The original Polish surname “Jarosz” loosely translates to ‘vigorous’ or ‘ardent.’ Because ‘Jarois’ (pronounced JAR-iss or JEHR-iss) is an ‘invented’ last name, all those who bear this surname are related.

Stanley and Marie raised three boys: Robert (1924-1997), Neil (1926-1981), and Ralph (1928-1999).
